“Problems can not be resolved at the level of consciousness, that created them”
A. Einstein
“Time and again, we are thrown into empty-canvas situations that require us to look at ourselves, at our collective patterns of behavior; to reinvent ourselves, who we are, and where we want to go as an institution, as an individual, and as a community”
O. Scharmer
When organizations realize that they do not have the answer to re-occurring problems, they often turn to an external consultant to find it and to bring about a solution. Unfortunately, this creates a certain degree of dependence and results in a company relinquishing its own innate power to find solutions from ‘within’. In addition, the solutions offered by external consultants are often symptomatic in nature and give no lasting answer to questions that every organization, every system, every man sooner or later faces. The growing complexity of our time demands simplicity and awareness.
What counts is that organizations become aware that problems are merely invitations to make choices.
Correct choices are not purely mental or strategic but deeply felt, emerging from an inner heartfelt, peaceful knowing.
To allow inner knowledge to emerge, leaders need to have the courage to stand still and to take time (in their terms usually perceived as ‘losing time’). They need to learn to enter an inner space – far from the mere mental analytic realm – where inspiration is found for good choices and where steps to be taken become clear and obvious.
It is the task of Katalpa to awake this dormant awareness at all levels of the organization and company. Once inner wisdom is achieved, the rest follows naturally.
Questions that arise in the future will not be addressed in a reactive but proactive way, simply because the organization has learnt to trust in the process of shaping their future as it emerges from the present – and not by responding to the past.
